The song is made up of just 7 music notes, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ne, which are “Indian Classical Music” equivalent of western Do Re Me…

The complex thing about Indian Raag is that, you are not only bound to use a set of 7 notes (usually) from an octave of 12 keys, but you must follow a specific sequence of notes while assending or decending in a scale. This adds a form of pre-defined melody in the Raag, but also makes the music very complex, since you have to memorize the precise sequence of the Raag in both directions.

At first, the song seems to be played in fast forward mode, but Nusrat is both composing and delivering notes from a specific Raag in realtime, while following the strict boundaries of the Raag. You can imagine how perfect someone has to program his brain to render his emotions in realtime at unbelievably high speed.

This track can be found in the album Night Song

Great Voice like Nusrat will not emerge for a long time. What more can I say about Nusrat; His songs, his time, his voice, his high to low notes, everything about him is Brilliant.

Peace for the Ustad, and Remember him forever.
